PurifiedPurified from prothrombin using a modification of the Lundblad procedure (1) as described by Nesheim, et al. (2). Purity is determined by SDS-PAGE analysis.

Supplied as a liquid in 50% glycerol/H2O. Labeled with Biotin.
Storage_stability

May be stored at 4 degree C for short-term only. For long-term storage, aliquot and store at -20 degree C. Aliquots are stable for at least 6 months at -20 degree C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.

Properties

Biotin conjugates can be detected by horseradish peroxidase, alkaline phosphatase substrates or anti biotin conjugated antibodies. Avidin and Streptavidin bind to the small biotin and are couple to HRP or AP for ELISA. To break the streptavidin Biotin bond we suggest to use a 6 molar guanidine HCl solution with acidity of pH 1.6.
