Integrin beta 4 chain (CD104), Mr 200 kDa CD104 represents the integrin beta 4 subunit that associates non-covalently with integrin alpha 6 (CD49f) to form the alpha 6 beta 4 integrin heterodimer.2, 3 The alpha 6 beta 4 complex is expressed on the basal surface of a variety of epithelial cell types, particularly on stratified squamous epithelia. It is also found in peripheral nerves, in certain subsets of endothelial cells, and on immature thymocytes, and has been found to be associated with a number of malignant tissues.3-5, 6 Hemidesmosomal alpha 6 beta 4 plays an important role in the adhesion of epithelial cells to basement membranes via interactions with laminin and/or kalinin anchoring filaments.7 It is not known if the monoclonal antibody 346-11A can block this adhesion.

Storage_stability
The purified (UNLB) antibody is supplied as 0.5 mg of purified immunoglobulin in 1.0 mL of 100 mM borate buffered saline, pH 8.2. No preservatives or amine-containing buffer salts added. Store at 2- 8 degree C. The low endotoxin, azide-free (LE/AF) antibody is supplied as 0.5 mg purified immunoglobulin in 1.0 mL of PBS. Aliquot and store at or below -20 degree C. Aliquot and freeze the low endotoxin, azide-free product at -20 degree C immediately upon receipt. Each reagent is stable for the period shown on the bottle label if stored as directed.

Description
This antibody needs to be stored at + 4°C in a fridge short term in a concentrated dilution. Freeze thaw will destroy a percentage in every cycle and should be avoided. Antibody for research use.

Test
Mouse or mice from the Mus musculus species are used for production of mouse monoclonal antibodies or mabs and as research model for humans in your lab. Mouse are mature after 40 days for females and 55 days for males. The female mice are pregnant only 20 days and can give birth to 10 litters of 6-8 mice a year. Transgenic, knock-out, congenic and inbread strains are known for C57BL/6, A/J, BALB/c, SCID while the CD-1 is outbred as strain.
