Specificity
Antibody concentration was determine by extinction coefficient: OD. 1.32 at 280nM equals 1.0mg of IgY. Optimal working dilutions should be determined experimentally by the investigator.
-
Form
Lyophilized; PBS, pH 7.2 with non-protein stabilizer.
-
Storage_stability
Lyophilized material should be kept at 2-8°C until rehydrated and will remain stable for two years. Rehydrate by adding 0.5ml of reagent quality water to the product vial. Store the liquid solution at 2-8°C for up to a week: Thereafter, aliquots should be prepared and store frozen. Stable for a minimum of 1 year at -20°C to -80°C. Multiple freeze-thaw cycles are not recommended.

Properties
Chickens like all bird species have IgY antibodies that are very stable and found in the yolk. Gallus Gallus domestica is the Latin name of the Chicken. Chicken yolk polyclonal Immunoglobulin Y (abbreviated as IgY) is a type of immunoglobulin which is the major antibody in bird, reptile, and lungfish blood. It is also found in high concentrations in chicken egg yolk. As with the other immunoglobulins, IgY is a class of proteins which are formed by the immune system in reaction to certain foreign substances, and specifically recognize them.
