SpecificityThis item recognises an epitope within the N-terminal region (NT) of tubulin beta, a 50kDa globular protein and major constituent of microtubules within the cytoskeleton, involved in meiosis, mitosis, intracellular transport and maintaining cell shape. The evolutionarily conserved heterodimer tubulin, made up of a tubulin alpha and beta chain, binds two molecules of GTP, one at a non-exchangeable site on the alpha chain and one at an exchangeable site on the beta chain. Only the beta chain possesses GTPase activity however, hydrolysing GTP to GDP, and influencing the stability of the dimer within the microtubule.Clone TU-13 is reported to partially inhibit microtubule assembly in vitro, see Draber, P. et al. for details. This item is reported as suitable for use in immunocytochemistry.

TestMouse or mice from the Mus musculus species are used for production of mouse monoclonal antibodies or mabs and as research model for humans in your lab. Mouse are mature after 40 days for females and 55 days for males. The female mice are pregnant only 20 days and can give birth to 10 litters of 6-8 mice a year. Transgenic, knock-out, congenic and inbread strains are known for C57BL/6, A/J, BALB/c, SCID while the CD-1 is outbred as strain.
