Storage_stability
Lyophilized peptides are generally extraordinarily stable at subzero temperatures, often showing little or no degradation even after years. We recommend storage at -20°C. The addition of 30-50% glycerol is recommended for long term storage in solution at -70°C. To avoid condensation moisture, allow the vial to reach room temperature before opening. If the contents of a vialare not used inmediately blanket with nitrogen and store dry and dark at -20°C. Peptides in solution have a much more limited stability. They are also highly susceptible to proteolytic degradation. Microbial proteases may be excluded by the use of freshly distilled water and sterile filtration. Gloves are recommended to avoid chance contatct with human proteases present on the skin. The best method to store reconstituted peptides is to aliquot the material and relyophilize it. If this is not possible, then store the stock solution in aliquots at -20°C or below and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.Shipping: Most peptides are also stable lyophilized at ambient temperatures and do not require refrigeration for short periods during transportation although extended exposure to warm temperatures should be avoided.
