  The antigen affinity purified antibody is labeled by Cy5. The antibody reacts with the heavy chains on chicken IgY and with the light chains common to most chicken immunoglobulines. No antibody was detected against non-immunoglobulin serum proteins. It has minimal reaction to human serum protein.

Cy5 antibodies are excited by the 650-nanometer wave of an argon laser and detected at a 670-nanometer captor. Chicken yolk polyclonal Immunoglobulin Y (abbreviated as IgY) is a type of immunoglobulin which is the major antibody in bird, reptile, and lungfish blood. It is also found in high concentrations in chicken egg yolk. As with the other immunoglobulins, IgY is a class of proteins which are formed by the immune system in reaction to certain foreign substances, and specifically recognize them.
