  • Reactivity
    Human
  • Specificity
Specifically recognizes the 515kD a-chain of human LRP/a2MR which is expressed in a restricted spectrum of cell types. A strong immunohistochemical reaction is seen in hepatocytes, tissue macrophages, subsets of neurons and astrocytes in the central nervous system, fibroblasts, smooth muscle cells, and monocyte-derived foam cells in atherosclerotic lesions in the arterial wall. Can also be used for the characterization of a subset of myelomonocytic subtypes of chronic and acute leukemia (CD 91).
  • Purity
Affinity Purified Purified by Protein A affinity chromatography.
  • Form
Supplied as a lyophilized powder from PBS, pH 7.4, 0.5% BSA. Reconstitute with 1ml sterile 40-50% glycerol, ddH2O.
  • Storage_stability
Lyophilized powder may be stored at 4 degree C for short-term only. Reconstitute to nominal volume by adding sterile 40-50% glycerol, ddH2O and store at -20 degree C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20 degree C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
  • Tested_application
Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS), Immunofluorescence (IF)
  • Description
High and low density proteins are supplied by MyBioSource in volumes of 1. Other densities are possible. The receptors are ligand binding factors of type 1, 2 or 3 and protein-molecules that receive chemical-signals from outside a cell. When such chemical-signals couple or bind to a receptor, they cause some form of cellular/tissue-response, e.g. a change in the electrical-activity of a cell. In this sense, am olfactory receptor is a protein-molecule that recognizes and responds to endogenous-chemical signals, chemokinesor cytokines e.g. an acetylcholine-receptor recognizes and responds to its endogenous-ligand, acetylcholine. However, sometimes in pharmacology, the term is also used to include other proteins that are drug-targets, such as enzymes, transporters and ion-channels.
