DescriptionGli1, also known as Gli, is a protein originally isolated in human glioblastoma. The protein is encoded by GLI1 gene. This gene is a member of a select group of cellular genes that are genetically altered in primary human tumors. GLI1 encodes a member of the GLI-Kruppel family of zinc finger proteins in the final steps of Hedgehog signaling in normal development and disease. The encoded transcription factor is activated by the sonic hedgehog signal transduction cascade and regulates stem cell proliferation. The activity and nuclear localization of this protein is negatively regulated by p53 in an inhibitory loop. Beside, various upstream patterning signals may be integrated by the Gli proteins to direct a coherent programme of neurogenesis.

ImmunogenHuman partial recombinant protein (AA 768-1106) was used as the immunogen for this Gli1 antibody.

StorageAfter reconstitution, the Gli1 antibody can be stored for up to one month at 4oC. For long-term, aliquot and store at -20 deg. Celcius or lower. Cycles of freezing and thawing can denaturate the peptide chains of the antibodies and reduce their sensitivity and/or change their affinity. Prepare aliqotes in such a manner so that freeze-thaw cycles are minimized. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
