Synthetic peptide surrounding amino acid 195 of mouse GDNF
  • How to handle this antibody:
The antibody solution should be gently mixed before use.
  • Form of antibody:
    Liquid
  • This antibody has been succesfully tested for use in following methods:
    Western blotting, Immunoprecipitation, Immunohistochemistry
  • Target of this antibody:
    GDNF
  • Formulation of this antibody:
30 µg (0.5 mg/ml) protein A affinity purified rabbit polyclonal antibody in phosphate-buffered saline (PBS) containing 30% glycerol, 0.5% BSA, and 0.01% thimerosal.
  • Alternative names of antibody target:
neurotrophic factor GDNF, GDNF, Glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor, Astrocyte-derived trophic factor; ATF
  • Recommended usage:
Western blotting (0.5-4 µg/ml). Based on researcher’s feedback, the antibody also works in immunoprecipitation (10-20 µg/ml), and Immunohistochemistry (10-20 µg/ml). However, the optimal concentrations should be determined individually. The antibody recognizes GDNF of human, mouse, and rat origins. Jurkat cell lysate can be used as a positive control.

  • Clonality of antibody:
    Polyclonal
  • Isotype:
    Rabbit IgG
  • Background information:
Glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor (GDNF) has been identified as a potent neurotrophic factor that enhances survival of midbrain dopaminergic neurons. GDNF is a glycosylated, disulfide-bonded homodimer. It promotes the survival and morphological differentiation of dopaminergic neurons and increases their high-affinity dopamine uptake. On the basis of these findings, it has been sμggested that GDNF may play a role in the treatment of Parkinson’s disease, which is marked by progressive degeneration of midbrain dopaminergic neurons.
  • Concentration of antibody:
    0.5 mg/ml
  • Description
This antibody needs to be stored at + 4°C in a fridge short term in a concentrated dilution. Freeze thaw will destroy a percentage in every cycle and should be avoided.
  • Properties
If you buy Antibodies supplied by biovision antibodies-kits-proteins they should be stored frozen at - 24°C for long term storage and for short term at + 5°C.
