Description
Phenylhydrazine is a colourless to yellow to dark red solid or oily liquid. It used to prepare indoles via the Fischer Indole Synthesis, which are intermediates in the synthesis of various dyes and pharmaceuticals. It is also used to differentiate and separate sugars by forming phenyhydrazones.
