DescriptionRITA (reactivation of p53 and induction of tumor cell apoptosis) binds to p53 and induces its accumulation in tumor cells. RITA prevents p53-HDM2 interaction in vitro and in vivo and affects p53 interaction with several negative regulators. It induces expression of p53 target genes and apoptosis in various tumor cell lines expressing wild-type p53.
