  • Background
BioVision’s PCR-Listeria monocytogenes Detection Kit is an ideal tool for simple, fast and reliable Amplification and Detection of specific DNA fragments from Listeria monocytogenes by the real-time PCR method. The Kit includes all reagents required in a comfortable ready-to-use Multiplex PCR MasterMix. The optimized MasterMix contains a Buffer, dNTPs, Hot-start DNA polymerase, DNA-free water, mgCl2 and an Internal Amplification Control (IAC) whose detection indicates the absence of PCR inhibitors. Primers and Probes for the amplification of IAC as well as for the amplification of the target gene are included in the MasterMix. The Probe for the detection of target gene is labelled with the FAM, whereas the probe for the detection of IAC is labelled with the HEX fluorochrome. In addition, the kit includes both Positive Control and Negative Control. The Positive control is supplied to demonstrate that the PCR amplification is working efficiently with the supplied components. To confirm absence of contamination, a Negative control reaction should be included every time the kit is used. Include DNAready Lysis Buffer to extract the DNA from the sample prior to PCR detection.
  • Additional description
The detections of the targets with this kit is a type of test that can be performed on any target containing biological samples after clean up of interfering agents. The assay must be performed following the protocol.
  • Group
    PCR, polymerase chain reaction
  • About
TAQ or Pfu or Pfx or other enzymes are used for polycmerase chain reaction and have different specificity. The mores specific the lower the yield.
  • Properties
Thermocyclers can be callibrated for identical ramping curves to obtain a more accurate PCR.
  • Gene target
  • Short name
    PCR-Listeria monocytogenes Kit
  • Technique
detection, PCR, The polymerase chain reaction (PCR) amplifies the DNA in your sample. For real time PCR the cycle threshold Ct values willneed to be set before the experiment. Than the RT-PCR starts from RNA and real time PCR quantitates the cDNA so the RNA in the sample on given time of the experiment.

  • Disease
Listeria monocytogenes and Listeria species are gram-positive, rod-shaped, facultatively anaerobic, and non spore-forming. The major human pathogen in the Listeria genus is L. monocytogenes. It is usually the causative agent of the relatively rare bacterial disease listeriotic, listeriosis a serious infection caused by eating food contaminated with the bacteria. The disease affects pregnant women, newborns, adults with weakened immune systems, and the elderly. Antibodies and ELISA test kits for detection of listeria antigens.
