DescriptionA rack to separate magnetic beads in tubes. Magnetic Separation Rack is used to capture and separate magnetic beads used in magnetic beads based purification techniques. The rack captures magnetic beads which may be bound to DNA, viruses or cells in tubes. The biomolecules or cells are eluted and concentrated from the magnetic beads using appropriate buffers for downstream applications. Magnetic Rack uses permanent magnets and has a compact design to accommodate different sizes of tubes including twelve 1.5 ml tubes, two 15 ml tubes and two 50 ml tubes.

ConceptScope note: A cell-separation technique where magnetizable microspheres or beads are first coated with monoclonal antibody, allowed to search and bind to target cells, and are then selectively removed when passed through a magnetic field. Among other applications, the technique is commonly used to remove tumor cells from the marrow (BONE MARROW PURGING) of patients who are to undergo autologous bone marrow transplantation.
