• Description
  Myelin basic protein (MBP) is a protein believed to be important in the process of myelination of nerves in the nervous system. Knockout mice deficient in MBP showed decreased amounts of CNS myelination and have developed a progressive disorder characterized by tremors, seizures, and early death.

  Basic proteins pH>7 are often produced recombinant and shouldn’t be precipitated by formic acid buffer. Guinea pig ELISA kits for plasma and sera samples are used to study human genes through the guinea pig model (Cavia porcellus), also called the cavy rodent model. After mouzes and rats Guinea pigs are easy in maintained laboratory animals. cDNAs of Guinea pigs are also very popular.
