How to reconstitute
See included datasheet or contact our support service
-
Storage condition
Store lyophilized material at 2-8 ºC. For long term storage after reconstitution, prepare small aliquots and store at -20 ºC . For storage at 2-8 ºC, add a preservative to prevent growth of bacteria. Rehydrate with 2.0 ml of deionized water. Swirl gentle and let stand for up to 2 hours at 18-25 °C. Centrifuge reconstituted serum to remove any precipitates.

Scientific context
Normal donkey serum lipid extracted and dialyzed against 10 mM sodium phosphate, 0.15 M sodium chloride, pH 7.2. This product is used as a blocking reagent or control for most immunoassay applications.
-
Notes
Recommended dilution: 2-5% (v/v) serum in PBS/TBS. To make a 2% (v/v) solution: add 2 ml of Normal Donkey Serum to 98 ml of PBS/TBS. Also, adding 0.05% Tween-20 will be beneficial. For a Western Blot 10-20 ml of blocking agent is needed, aliquote and freeze the rest of the unused blocking buffer, because there are no preservatives in the serum.Protein concentration is 60.0 mg/ml (Bradford, IgG standards). Antibody is supplied in 10 mM sodium phosphate, 0.15 M sodium chloride, pH 7.2. No preservative is added.

Description
Azide Free Serum for cell culture FBS fetal bovine serum. Filtered serum for sterility. The polyclonal serum contains no red or white blood cells or clotting factors; it is the blood plasma not including the fibrinogens. Serum includes all proteins and antibodies not used in blood clotting (coagulation) and all the electrolytes, antibodies, antigens, hormones, and any exogenous substances like drugs and microorganisms. Plasmas on request.

Host
Donkeys or Equus africanus asinus are often used as host species to raise antibodies. Even Equus ferus or horse antibodies are different than donkey antibodies since we know horse anti donkey IgGs. For immunohistochemistry it is useful to use an anti-donkey or horse block if your primary antibody is a donkey anti-human. We provide also anti-donkey as a species antibodies and ELISA kits.
