Bismuth(III)nitrate pentahydrate, Hi-AR/ACS is a colourless or white deliquescent crystals or powder or chunks or solid which is used in the synthesis of other bismuth compounds. It serves as a reagent for selective oxidation of sufides to sulfoxides and it is involved in the preparation of Dragendorff reagent and used as a TLC stain.
