Long description
The reactivity of the antiserum is directed to the Fc and Fab subunits of both subclasses, IgG1 and IgG2. In immunoelectrophoresis against swine serum, a single characteristic precipitin line is usually observed, representing primarily Igg2. The IgG1 may become visible a spur. The antiserum includes a certain degree of reactivity with other immunoglobulins via the common Fab portion. In immunoelectrophoresis against swine serum a single characteristic precipitin line with a spur is usually obtained. It does not react with any non-Ig protein in swine serum, as tested by immunoelectrophoresis and double radial immunodiffusion. In immunoelectrophoresis and double radial immunodiffusion to identify the presence of IgG; as secondary antibody to precipitate the immunoglobulin in normal swine serum; to prepare an immunoadsorbent for the production of Ig-free swine serum, plasma or non-Ig preparations. This antiserum is not intended for use in non-precipitating antibody-binding or other highly sensitive assays. For such uses labelled and unlabelled cytochemical and immunoassay reagents meeting the necessary additional specificity and performance requirements are available.

Purified normal IgG isolated from pooled swine serum. Freund’s complete adjuvant is used in the first step of the immunization procedure.

Delipidated, heat inactivated lyophilized stable whole serum No preservative added, as it may interfere with the antibody activity. No foreign protein added. Total protein and IgG concentration in the antiserum are comparable to those of pooled goat serum. No foreign proteins added.

Immunoprecipitation. In immunoelectrophoresis use 2 μl or equivalent against 120 μl antiserum. In double radial immunodiffusion (Ouchterlony) use a rosette arrangement with 10 μl antiserum in a 3 mm diameter centre well and 2 μl serum samples (neat and diluted) in 2 mm diameter peripheral wells. Precipitin titre not less than 1:64 when tested against normal swine serum in agar block titration.

This antibody needs to be stored at + 4°C in a fridge short term in a concentrated dilution. Freeze thaw will destroy a percentage in every cycle and should be avoided.
