ELISA kit description
GENTAUR's mouse BCAM ELISA test is a ready to use ELISA kit. We use a monoclonal from rat specific for BCAM was used as capure antibodies on the ELISA test plate. The internal standards (Expression system for standard: NSO, Immunogen sequence: E26-A541) and your samples are measured with a biotin conjugated polyclonal from goat specific for BCAM will than be washed with PBS. The colour reaction with TMB on HRP will colour the well from blue to yellow with the stop solution. The more mouse BCAM in your sample the higher the ELISA signal will be compared to this elisa's standard curve.

How the elisa works
Sample the amount of 100ul/well of the standard solution at 10000pg/ml, 5000pg/ml, 2500pg/ml, 1250pg/ml, 625pg/ml, 312pg/ml, 156pg/ml mouse BCAM standard solutions into the precoated 96-well plate. Add 0.1ml of the sample diluent buffers into the control well (Zero well). Add 0.1ml of each properly diluted sample of mouse cell culture supernatant, serum or plasma(heparin, EDTA) to the ELISA plate. Keep in mind that each mouse BCAM standard solution and each sample be measured in duplicate.

Basal cell adhesion molecule is a protein that in humans is encoded by the BCAM gene. The BCAM gene encodes a glycoprotein expressed on cell surfaces. It is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily of receptors and cell adhesion molecules. When expressed on erythrocytes, BCAM constitutes the Lutheran (Lu) and Auberger (Au) blood group antigens. And this protein may play a role in epithelial cell cancer and in vaso-occlusion of red blood cells in sickle cell disease. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
