Host organismMouse (Mus musculus)
-
Species reactivityMouse (Mus musculus), Rat (Rattus norvegicus), Sheep, Rabbit (Oryctolagus cuniculus), Cow, Dog, Human (Homo sapiens). Does not react with Zebrafish; Due to limited knowledge and inability for testing each and every species, the reactivity of the antibody may extend to other species which are not listed hereby.
-
Specificity and cross reactivityReacts with an epitope located C-terminal of residue 231 in lamin B1, does not cross react with lamin B2. Lamins do not appear to be universally distributed among different cell and tissue types. ab8982 has been shown to react with HeLa and 3T3 cells in immunocytochemistry. Other cell/tissue types have not been tested; Since it is not possible to test each and every species our knowledge on the corss reactivity of the antibodies is limited. This particular antibody might cross react with speacies outside of the listed ones.

Storage and shippingLyophilized antibodies may be transported at ambient temperature and stored for short terms at +4 degrees Celsius and at -20 for long term storage. Antibodies in liquid form can be shipped and stored for short terms at +4 degrees Celsius, for long term storage (up to one year) 25-50% glycerol or ethylene glycol has to added and the vial must be stored at -20°C.
-
Tested applicationsWestern Blot (WB), Dot Blot (DB), ELISA (EIA), Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS), Immunocytochemistry/Immunofluorescence (ICC/IF), Immunohistochemistry (IHC)
-
DescriptionThis antibody needs to be stored at + 4°C in a fridge short term in a concentrated dilution. Freeze thaw will destroy a percentage in every cycle and should be avoided. Antibody for research use.
-
TestMouse or mice from the Mus musculus species are used for production of mouse monoclonal antibodies or mabs and as research model for humans in your lab. Mouse are mature after 40 days for females and 55 days for males. The female mice are pregnant only 20 days and can give birth to 10 litters of 6-8 mice a year. Transgenic, knock-out, congenic and inbread strains are known for C57BL/6, A/J, BALB/c, SCID while the CD-1 is outbred as strain.
