SpecificityMurine CD107a/LAMP-1 (Mr 110-140 kDa with a core protein of Mr ~40 kDa) CD107a, also known as lysosomal-associated membrane protein 1 (LAMP-1), is a heavily glycosylated, type I transmembrane protein that constitutes one of the two major sialoglycoproteins on lysosomal membranes that can be used to distinguish lysosomes from other organelles.^1 It is a ligand for galaptin, an S-type lectin present in extracellular matrix, through its recognition of acetyllactosamine oligosaccharide chains, and is a ligand for E-selectin-mediated cell adhesion.^2 CD107a is principally expressed in epithelial cells and macrophages in a variety of organs in normal and Beige mutant mice.^3 LAMP-1 may function in protecting the inner surface of the lysosomal membrane by forming a barrier to lysosomal hydrolases.^4

Storage_stabilityThe purified (UNLB) antibody is supplied as 0.5 mg of purified immunoglobulin in 1.0 mL of 100 mM borate buffered saline, pH 8.2. No preservatives or amine-containing buffer salts added. Store at 2- 8 degree C. The fluorescein (FITC) conjugate is supplied as 0.5 mg in 1.0 mL of PBS/NaN3. Store at 2-8 degree C. The allophycocyanin (APC) conjugate is supplied as 0.1 mg in 1.0 mL of PBS/NaN3 and a stabilizing agent. Store at 2-8 degree C. Do not freeze! Protect conjugated forms from light. Each reagent is stable for the period shown on the bottle label if stored as directed.
-
Tested_applicationFlow Cytometry; Immunohistochemistry (Frozen Sections); Immunoprecipitation; Western Blot
-
DescriptionThis antibody needs to be stored at + 4°C in a fridge short term in a concentrated dilution. Freeze thaw will destroy a percentage in every cycle and should be avoided. Antibody for research use.

PropertiesThis MyBioSource Fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC) antibody is currently after some BD antibodies the most commonly used fluorescent dye for FACS. When excited at 488 nanometers, FITC has a green emission that's usually collected at 530 nanometers, the FL1 detector of a FACSCalibur or FACScan. FITC has a high quantum yield (efficiency of energy transfer from absorption to emission fluorescence) and approximately half of the absorbed photons are emitted as fluorescent light. For fluorescent microscopy applications, the 1 FITC is seldom used as it photo bleaches rather quickly though in flow cytometry applications, its photo bleaching effects are not observed due to a very brief interaction at the laser intercept. MyBioSource FITC is highly sensitive to pH extremes.

TestMouse or mice from the Mus musculus species are used for production of mouse monoclonal antibodies or mabs and as research model for humans in your lab. Mouse are mature after 40 days for females and 55 days for males. The female mice are pregnant only 20 days and can give birth to 10 litters of 6-8 mice a year. Transgenic, knock-out, congenic and inbread strains are known for C57BL/6, A/J, BALB/c, SCID while the CD-1 is outbred as strain.
-
Latin nameMus musculus, Rattus norvegicus
-
AboutRats are used to make rat monoclonal anti mouse antibodies. There are less rat- than mouse clones however. Rats genes from rodents of the genus Rattus norvegicus are often studied in vivo as a model of human genes in Sprague-Dawley or Wistar rats.
