• Background: The reactivity of the antiserum is directed to the Fc subunits of IgE as tested against mouse sera and a panel of purified homogenous immunoglobulins. It does not react with IgG, IgG/Fab fragments, IgM and IgA or any non-Ig protein in mouse serum, as tested by immunoelectrophoresis and double radial immunodiffusion. In precipitating techniques as immunoelectrophoresis and radial immunodiffusion to identify the presence of homogenous IgE in mouse serum and other body fluids or to determine its concentration. To prepare an immunoadsorbent for the purification of mouse IgE from serum or plasma.

• Source: Pools of purified homogenous IgE isolated from pooled mouse serum. Freund’s complete adjuvant is used in the first step of the immunization procedure.
• Assay Principle: Precipitation assays. In immunoelectrophoresis use 2 μl or equivalent against 120 μl antiserum. In double radial immunodiffusion (Ouchterlony) use a rosette arrangement with 10 μl antiserum in a 3 mm diameter centre well and 2 μl serum samples (neat and diluted) in 2 mm diameter peripheral wells.
• Form: Delipidated, heat inactivated, lyophilized stable whole serum; No preservative added; Total protein and IgG concentration in the antiserum are comparable to those of pooled; Normal rabbit serum; No foreign proteins added; Reconstitute the lyophilized antiserum by adding 1 mL sterile distilled water
