  • Reproducibility:

Intra-assay Precision (Precision within an assay) : 3 samples with low, middle and high level Interleukin 8 (IL8) were tested 20 times on one plate, respectively. Inter-assay Precision (Precision between assays) : 3 samples with low, middle and high level Interleukin 8 (IL8) were tested on 3 different plates, 8 replicates in each plate. CV (%) = SD/meanX100 Intra-Assay: CV<10% Inter-Assay: CV<12%

  • Gene ID:

    3576
  • Accession Number:

    NP_000575
  • Reactivity:

    Homo sapiens|Human
  • Target:

IL-8 is a chemotactic factor that attracts neutrophils, basophils, and T-cells, but not monocytes. It is also involved in neutrophil activation. It is released from several cell types in response to an inflammatory stimulus. IL-8 (6-77) has a 5-10-fold higher activity on neutrophil activation, IL-8 (5-77) has increased activity on neutrophil activation and IL-8 (7-77) has a higher affinity to receptors CXCR1 and CXCR2 as compared to IL-8 (1-77), respectively.
  • Type:

    ELISA Kit
  • Applications:

    Chemiluminescent immunoassay
  • Detection Method:

    Chemiluminescent
  • Assay Principle:

The microplate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to Interleukin 8 (IL8) . Standards or samples are then added to the appropriate microplate wells with a biotin-conjugated antibody specific to Interleukin 8 (IL8) . Next, Avidin conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to each microplate well and incubated. Then the mixture of substrate A and B is added to generate glow light emission kinetics. Upon plate development, the intensity of the emitted light is proportional to the Interleukin 8 (IL8) level in the sample or standard.
