Background InformationNerve growth factor-β (NGF-β) is a potent neurotrophic factor that supports the growth and survivability of nerve and/or glial cells. The active form of human NGF-β is a dimer, formed by two identical 119 amino acid subunits, which is held together by strong hydrophobic interactions. Recombinant human BGF-b produced in CHO cells is a homodimer, glycosylated, polypeptide chain containing 2 identical 119 amino acids and having a molecular weight of 16.95 kDa. The protein is purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.

UsageFor Research Use Only! Not to be used in humans
-
PropertiesHuman proteins, cDNA and human recombinants are used in human reactive ELISA kits and to produce anti-human mono and polyclonal antibodies. Modern humans (Homo sapiens, primarily ssp. Homo sapiens sapiens). Depending on the epitopes used human ELISA kits can be cross reactive to many other species. Mainly analyzed are human serum, plasma, urine, saliva, human cell culture supernatants and biological samples.
