- Scientific contextmCherry is a fluorescent tracer in transfection and transgenic experiments. Originally it was derived from proteins isolated from Cnidarians (jelly fish, sea anemones and corals), specicially DsRed, a red fluorescent protein from the disc corals of Discosoma species. DsRed is similar in properties to GFP, but, produces a red rather than a green fluoresence. mCherry was engineered with further multiple cycles of mutation, directed modification and evolutionary selection, and in its monomeric form has an excitation maximum at 587 nm and an emission maximum at 610 nm.

- TechniquePolyclonal, anti-, Mouse, anti, FITC, antibody to, antibodies, Fluorescein, mouses, Polyclonal antibodies (pAbs) are mostly rabbit or goat antibodies that are secreted by different B cells, whereas monoclonal antibodies come from a single N cell lineage. Pabs are a collection of immunoglobulin molecules that react against a specific antigen, each identifying a different epitope.
