  DEHYDROEPIANDROSTERONE SULPHATE This item recognises Dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA), the most abundant hormone in the human body and precursor of all the sex hormones. DHEA is synthesised principally in the adrenals and gonads from cholesterol through conversion to pregnenolone and 17?-Hydroxypregnenolone by the action of P450 enzymes. DHEA is mainly found in serum as the sulphated form, a reversible reaction catalysed by sulfotransferase in the adrenals, liver and smalll intestine.
