Additional description
Lyphilized ultra pure white powder needs to be reconstututed in PBS, Sodium Phosphate or RPMI and sterile Water supplemented with 0% glycerol or gelatin in as high as possible concentration aliquots to prevent post reconstitution degradation. Aliquoting with 25 mM HEPES-KOH, pH 7.2 and 1 mM DTT and 10% weight on volume glycerol is suitable for storage of the reconstituted powder. The solution can be stored for short term at +4 C 5 days and long term storage at - 85C. Freeze thaw cycles need to be omitted to maintain the protein activity. A typical loss of 15 % in each freeze thaw cycle can be expected. Azide Free Serum for cell culture FBS fetal bovine serum. Filtered serum for sterility. The polyclonal serum contains no red or white blood cells or clotting factors; it is the blood plasma not including the fibrinogens. Serum includes all proteins and antibodies not used in blood clotting (coagulation) and all the electrolytes, antibodies, antigens, hormones, and any exogenous substances like drugs and microorganisms. Plasmas on request.
