Rabbit Anti-Human, Mouse, Rat UDP-Glucose Ceramide Glucosyltransferase-Like 1 Polyclonal Antibody
Description:
UDP-glucose ceramide glycosyltransferase (ugCG) is a key enzyme in sphingolipid metabolism. glucosylceramide (GlcCer) produced by ugCG is the precursor of all glycosphingolipids (GSL), which is essential for normal cell function. Extracellular vesicles (EVs), especially exosomes, have emerged as a new role in the development of Alzheimer's disease (AD) in the past 10 years, which has great potential as a diagnostic and therapeutic tool. Exosomes and other EVs are enriched with the sphingolipid ceramide as well as other more complex glycosphingolipids. At least a exosome subgroup needs neutral sphingomyelinase activity for biogenesis and secretion. Because ceramide is often increased in AD, the secretion of exosomes may also be affected.Shipping Conditions:
