Species reactivityHuman (Homo sapiens); Due to limited knowledge and inability for testing each and every species, the reactivity of the antibody may extend to other species which are not listed hereby.
-
Specificity and cross reactivityReacts with human Caspase 21 The Caspases are a family of cysteine proteases that induce apoptosis in response to a variety of intraand extracellular stimuli. These enzymes are synthesized as inactive precursors which become cleaved at aspartate-specific sites upon induction of apoptosis. Caspase 2 (ICH-1/Nedd2) is an initiator caspase that is prevalent in both the cytosol and nucleus in many cell types3. During embryonic development it is expressed at relatively high levels in the central nervous system, liver, kidney and lungs and is prevalent in numerous tissues in adults4,5. Studies have shown that Caspase 2 becomes activated in response to several lethal stimuli including DNA damage, ER stress and death receptor stimulation and further evidence has suggested a role in reactive oxygen species-induced cell death2,6-9. The SB123a monoclonal antibody detects bands at ~40 and ~48 kD, corresponding to cleaved and uncleaved forms of Caspase 2, respectively.; Since it is not possible to test each and every species our knowledge on the corss reactivity of the antibodies is limited. This particular antibody might cross react with speacies outside of the listed ones.

Storage and shippingThe purified (UNLB) antibody is supplied as 0.1mg purified immunoglobulin in 0.1 mL of 100 mM borate buffered saline, pH 8.0; Store the antibody ats should be kept in the range of 1-7 degrees Celsius.. Reagents are stable for the period shown on the label if stored as directed.
-
Tested applicationsWestern Blot
-
DescriptionThis antibody needs to be stored at + 4°C in a fridge short term in a concentrated dilution. Freeze thaw will destroy a percentage in every cycle and should be avoided. Antibody for research use. Human and some mouse caspases are active in apoptosis and cell death and even in necrosis and inflammation. CASP Gene and orthologous enzymes have been identifies successfully in the signal transduction cascade and pathways.
-
TestMBS Monoclonals supplies antibodies that are for research of human proteins.
-
PropertiesHuman proteins, cDNA and human recombinants are used in human reactive ELISA kits and to produce anti-human mono and polyclonal antibodies. Modern humans (Homo sapiens, primarily ssp. Homo sapiens sapiens). Depending on the epitopes used human ELISA kits can be cross reactive to many other species. Mainly analyzed are human serum, plasma, urine, saliva, human cell culture supernatants and biological samples.
-
AboutRats are used to make rat monoclonal anti mouse antibodies. There are less rat- than mouse clones however. Rats genes from rodents of the genus Rattus norvegicus are often studied in vivo as a model of human genes in Sprague-Dawley or Wistar rats.
