DescriptionPeroxisome proliferator-activated receptor alpha, also known as NR1C1 (nuclear receptor subfamily 1, group C, member 1), is a nuclear receptor protein that in humans is encoded by the PPARA gene. The gene spans 83.7 kb and contains 8 exons and is mapped to chromosome 22q12-q13.1. Sher et al.(1993) cloned a cDNA for human peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor from a human liver cDNA library. The PPAR cDNA exhibited 85% and 91% DNA and deduced amino acid sequence identity, respectively, with mouse PPAR. PPAR alpha is a transcription factor and a major regulator of lipid metabolism in the liver.
-
ImmunogenAmino acids 393-412 (NIGYIEKLQEGIVHVLKLHL-mouse) were used as the immunogen for this PPAR alpha antibody.
-
StorageAfter reconstitution, the PPAR alpha antibody can be stored for up to one month at 4oC. For long-term, aliquot and store at -20 deg. Celcius or lower. Cycles of freezing and thawing can denaturate the peptide chains of the antibodies and reduce their sensitivity and/or change their affinity. Prepare aliqotes in such a manner so that freeze-thaw cycles are minimized. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
-
Additional descriptionThe Anti-PPAR alpha is a α- or alpha protein sometimes glycoprotein present in blood.
