Long description
Recognizes a protein of 70kDa, identified as p70 subunit of Ku. The epitope of this antibody maps between amino acids 506-541 of p70. The Ku autoantigen is a heterodimer of 70kDa (p70) and ~80kDa (p80) proteins. The p70/p80 dimer is important for function of a 460kDa DNA-dependent protein kinase (DNA-PK) that phosphorylates certain transcription factors, including Sp1, Oct-1, p53, and SV40 large T antigen in vitro.

Antibody s suited for
This antibody can be used for Immunohistochemistry on frozen and formalin/paraffin embedded tissues (2-4 µg/ml). Optimal concentration should be evaluated by serial dilutions. Note: Use on formalin-fixed sections requires boiling sectios in 1mM EDTA, pH 8.0 for 10-20 min followed by cooling at RT for 20 min.

Test
Mouse or mice from the Mus musculus species are used for production of mouse monoclonal antibodies or mabs and as research model for humans in your lab. Mouse are mature after 40 days for females and 55 days for males. The female mice are pregnant only 20 days and can give birth to 10 litters of 6-8 mice a year. Transgenic, knock-out, congenic and inbread strains are known for C57BL/6, A/J, BALB/c, SCID while the CD-1 is outbred as strain.
