DescriptionInositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate receptor type 1, also known as IP3R or IP3R1, is a protein that in humans is encoded by the ITPR1 gene. The product of the ITPR1 gene is predominantly enriched in cerebellar Purkinje cells but is also concentrated in neurons in the hippocampal CA1 region, caudate-putamen, and cerebral cortex. Inositol 1,4,5-triphosphate (IP3) receptor is an intracellular IP3-gated calcium channel that modulates intracellular calcium signaling. Upon stimulation by inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate, this receptor mediates calcium release from the endoplasmic reticulum. Mutations in ITPR1 cause spinocerebellar ataxia type 15, a disease associated with an heterogeneous group of cerebellar disorders. This gene has been shown to interact with CA8, PRKG1, and FKBP1A.
-
ImmunogenAn amino acid sequence from the C-terminus of human IP3 receptor (TTQITEEVRDQLLEA) was used as the immunogen for this IP3R antibody (100% homologous in human, mouse and rat).
-
StorageAfter reconstitution, the IP3R antibody can be stored for up to one month at 4oC. For long-term, aliquot and store at -20 deg. Celcius or lower. Cycles of freezing and thawing can denaturate the peptide chains of the antibodies and reduce their sensitivity and/or change their affinity. Prepare aliqotes in such a manner so that freeze-thaw cycles are minimized. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
-
PropertiesIf you buy Antibodies supplied by NJS poly they should be stored frozen at - 24°C for long term storage and for short term at + 5°C.
