• Description
  Excitatory amino acid transporter 4 (EAAT4), also known as Sodium-dependent glutamate/aspartate transporter is a protein that in humans is encoded by the SLC1A6 gene. This gene is mapped to 19p13.12. EAAT4 is expressed predominantly in the cerebellum, has high affinity for the excitatory amino acids L-aspartate and L-glutamate. When stimulated by these amino acids, EAAT4 conducts chloride ions. This gene seems to act as a symport by cotransporting sodium.
• Immunogen
  An amino acid sequence from the C-terminus of human Excitatory amino acid transporter 4 (AAVIEHLSQRELELQEAE) was used as the immunogen for this EAAT4 antibody (100% homologous in human, mouse and rat).
• Storage
  After reconstitution, the EAAT4 antibody can be stored for up to one month at 4oC. For long-term, aliquot and store at -20 deg. Celcius or lower. Cycles of freezing and thawing can denaturate the peptide chains of the antibodies and reduce their sensitivity and/or change their affinity. Prepare aliqotes in such a manner so that freeze-thaw cycles are minimized. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
