ELISA kit description
GENTAUR's human HO-1 ELISA test is a ready to use ELISA kit. We use a monoclonal from mouse specific for HO-1 was used as capure antibodies on the ELISA test plate. The internal standards (E.coli, M1-M288) and your samples are measured with a biotin conjugated polyclonal from goat specific for HO-1 will than be washed with PBS. The colour reaction with TMB on HRP will colour the well from blue to yellow with the stop solution. The more human HO-1 in your sample the higher the ELISA signal will be compared to this elisa's standard curve.

How the elisa works
Sample the amount of 100ul/well of the standard solution at 6000pg/ml, 3000pg/ml, 1500pg/ml, 750pg/ml, 375pg/ml, 187.5pg/ml, 93.7pg/m human HO-1 standard solutions into the precoated 96-well plate. Add 0.1ml of the sample diluent buffers into the control well (Zero well). Add 0.1ml of each properly diluted sample of human cell culture supernatant, serum or plasma(heparin, EDTA) to the ELISA plate. Keep in mind that each human HO-1 standard solution and each sample be measured in duplicate.

HMOX1 (heme oxygenase (decycling) 1) is a human gene that encodes for the enzyme heme oxygenase 1. It is localized to chromosome 22. Heme oxygenase, an essential enzyme in heme catabolism, cleaves heme to form biliverdin, which is subsequently converted to bilirubin by biliverdin reductase, and carbon monoxide, a putative neurotransmitter. Heme oxygenase activity is induced by its substrate heme and by various nonheme substances. Heme oxygenase occurs as 2 isozymes, an inducible heme oxygenase-1 and a constitutive heme oxygenase-2. HMOX1 and HMOX2 belong to the heme oxygenase family.
