Specificity
1. Caspase antibodies are classical tools for detecting inactive (pro) and active (cleaved) forms of the enzymes. The presence of the large or small subunits in western blots ia considered to be a marker of caspase activation. IMG-5701 preferentially detects active caspase-6 (large subunit and small subunits). However, it may also detect pro-caspase-6 or other intermediate cleavage fragments in some cell or tissue systems. Species Crossreactivity: Cross reacts with canine, Gerbil, Human, Mouse and Rat.

Storage_stability
May be stored at 4 degree C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and store at -20 degree C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degree C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.

Description
Human and some mouse caspases are active in apoptosis and cell death and even in necrosis and inflammation. CASP Gene and orthologous enzymes have been identifies successfully in the signal transduction cascade and pathways.
