DescriptionARC, or Activity-Regulated Cytoskeleton-associated protein, is a plasticity protein first characterized in 1995. It is a member of the immediate-early gene(IEG) family. The ARC gene is mapped to chromosome 8q24. It has got 460 amino acid protein which shares significant similarity with rat Arc. The Arc is highly expressed in heart, brain, lung, skeletal muscle, pancreas, prostate and testis and has got weak expression in small intestine, colon, and peripheral blood leukocytes. Arc is widely considered to be an important protein in neurobiology and also a significant tool for systems neuroscience.
-
ImmunogenAn amino acid sequence from the N-terminus of the human protein (MELDHRTSGGLHAYP) was used as the immunogen for this ARC antibody.
-
StorageAfter reconstitution, the ARC antibody can be stored for up to one month at 4oC. For long-term, aliquot and store at -20 deg. Celcius or lower. Cycles of freezing and thawing can denaturate the peptide chains of the antibodies and reduce their sensitivity and/or change their affinity. Prepare aliqotes in such a manner so that freeze-thaw cycles are minimized. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
-
PropertiesIf you buy Antibodies supplied by NJS poly they should be stored frozen at - 24°C for long term storage and for short term at + 5°C.
