Gene info
STAT1 alpha Antibody: STATs (signal transducers and activators of transcription) are a family of cytoplasmic latent transcription factors that are activated to regulate gene expression in response to a large number of extracellular signaling polypeptides including cytokines, interferons, and growth factors. After phosphorylation by JAK tyrosine kinases, STATs enter the nucleus to regulate transcription of many different genes. Among the seven STATs (Stat1, Stat2, Stat3, Stat4, Stat5a, Stat5b, and Stat6), Stat1, Stat3, Stat5a, and Stat5b have a wide activation profile. STAT1 is activated by many different ligands including IFN family (IFN-a;, IFN-β, IFN-γ and IL-10), gp130 family (IL-6, IL-11, LIF, CNTF, and G-CSF), and receptor tyrosine kinases (EGF, PDGF, and CSF-1). STAT1 has two forms, the 91 kDa STAT1a; and the 84 kDa STAT1β which are encoded by the same gene with splicing variant.

Antigen
STAT1 antibody was made against a peptide corresponding to amino acids near the carboxy terminus of human STAT1 alpha. The sequences differ from the murine corresponding sequences by four amino acids.
-
Immuno application
ELISA, Western Blot, immuno-cyto-chemistry, immuno precipitation
-
Antibody advice
STAT1 alpha antibody can be used for Western blot at 1:1000 to 1:2000 and for immunoprecipitation at 2 to 4 ug per sample. A 91 kDa band can be detected. Antibody can also be used for immunocytochemistry starting at 10 ug/mL.
-
Suspention pH azide
STAT1 alpha Antibody is supplied in PBS containing 0.02% sodium azide.
-
Keep at
STAT1 alpha antibody can be stored at 4 grades C for three months and -20 grades C, stable for up to one year. As with all antibodies care should be taken to avoid repeated freeze thaw cycles. Antibodies should not be exposed to prolonged high temperatures.

Description
The anti-STAT1 alpha Antibody is a α- or alpha protein sometimes glycoprotein present in blood. This antibody needs to be stored at + 4°C in a fridge short term in a concentrated dilution. Freeze thaw will destroy a percentage in every cycle and should be avoided. Antibody for research use.
-
Properties
If you buy Antibodies supplied by proscience they should be stored frozen at - 24°C for long term storage and for short term at + 5°C.
