  PLK1 This item specifically recognises the 66kDa serine/threonine kinase, PLK1 (polo-like kinase 1), when phosphorylated at Thr210. _x000D__x000D_PLK1 is a member of a group of polo-like kinases which play essential roles in the progression of mitosis. PLK1 has been implicated in various stages of mitosis, including promotion through the activation of cyclin B1/Cdk (mitosis promoting factor), the formation of functional mitotic bipolar spindles, and the maturation of centrosomes. The timing at which PLK1 phosphorylation occurs at Ser137 and Thr210 sites, may act as a regulator of PLK1 function through the mitotic cycle.
