Specificity
p53R2 (NT) [This rabbit antibody recognizes an epitope of aa 2-17 at the N-terminus of human, mouse, and rat p53R2.] This antibody recognizes an epitope at the N-terminus of human, mouse, and rat p53R2, a p53 inducible gene that contains a p53 binding sequence and encodes a subunit of the enzyme ribonucleotide reductase. p53R2 is induced by agents that cause DNA damage, such as UV and gamma -irradiation. The product of the p53R2 gene is directly involved in the p53 checkpoint for repair of damaged DNA.

About
Polyclonals can be used for Western blot, immunohistochemistry on frozen slices or parrafin fixed tissues. The advantage is that there are more epitopes available in a polyclonal antiserum to detect the proteins than in monoclonal sera.

Technique
Polyclonal, Antibody, antibodies against human proteins, antibodies for, Polyclonal antibodies (pAbs) are mostly rabbit or goat antibodies that are secreted by different B cells, whereas monoclonal antibodies come from a single N cell lineage. Pabs are a collection of immunoglobulin molecules that react against a specific antigen, each identifying a different epitope.
