ImmunogenA synthetic peptide corresponding to a sequence at the C-terminus of human MEF2A (466-507aa DGSDREDPRGDFHSPIVLGRPPNTEDRESPSVKRMRMDAW VT), different from the related mouse sequence by one amino acid, and from the related rat sequence by two amino acids.
-
Product configurationEach vial contains 5mg BSA, 0.9mg NaCl, 0.2mg Na2HPO4, 0.05mg NaN3.
-
PurificationImmunogen affinity purified.
-
SolubilizationThe powdered antibody should be dissolved in 0.2 ml of distilled water to achieve final concentration of 500ug/ml

Storage condtionsKeep the MEF2A Antibodyat minus twenty degrees Celsius for 1 year. The ready-to-use solutions can be stored at four degrees Celsius for a month. Our specialsits recommend to freeze the aliquotes at minus twenty degrees Celsius for long-term application. Multiple procedures of freezing and thawing influence the specifity and reactivity of the antibody in a negative way.

BackgroundMyocyte-specific enhancer factor 2A is a protein that in humans is encoded by the MEF2A gene. It is mapped to 15q26. The protein encoded by this gene is a DNA-binding transcription factor that activates many muscle-specific, growth factor-induced, and stress-induced genes. The encoded protein can act as a homodimer or as a heterodimer and is involved in several cellular processes, including muscle development, neuronal differentiation, cell growth control, and apoptosis. Defects in this gene could be a cause of autosomal dominant coronary artery disease 1 with myocardial infarction (ADCAD1). Several transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
