  • Gene info
IKK alpha Antibody: Nuclear factor kappa B (NF-kB) is a ubiquitous transcription factor and an essential mediator of gene expression during activation of immune and inflammatory responses. NF-kB mediates the expression of a great variety of genes in response to extracellular stimuli including IL-1, TNFa, and bacteria product LPS. NF-kB is associated with IkB proteins in the cell cytoplasm, which inhibit NF-kB activity. The long-sought IkB kinase (IKK), which phosphorylates IkB, and mediates IkB degradation and NF-kB activation, was recently identified by several laboratories. IKK is a serine protein kinase, and the IKK complex contains alpha and beta subunits (IKKa; and IKKβ). IKKa; and IKKβ interact with each other and both are essential for the NF-kB activation. IKKa; specifically phosphorylates IkB-alpha. IKKa; is expressed in variety of human tissues.

ELISA, Western Blot, immuno-cyto-chemistry, immuno fluorescence
  • Antibody advice
IKK alpha can be used for detection of IKK alpha by Western blot at 1 ug/mL. An 85 kDa band should be detected. Antibody can also be used for immunocytochemistry starting at 1 ug/mL. For immunofluorescence start at 20 ug/mL.
  • Suspention pH azide
IKK alpha Antibody is supplied in PBS containing 0.02% sodium azide.
  • Keep at
IKK alpha antibody can be stored at 4 grades C for three months and -20 grades C, stable for up to one year. As with all antibodies care should be taken to avoid repeated freeze thaw cycles. Antibodies should not be exposed to prolonged high temperatures.

  • Description
The anti-IKK alpha Antibody is a α- or alpha protein sometimes glycoprotein present in blood. This antibody needs to be stored at + 4°C in a fridge short term in a concentrated dilution. Freeze thaw will destroy a percentage in every cycle and should be avoided. Antibody for research use.
  • Properties
If you buy Antibodies supplied by proscience they should be stored frozen at - 24°C for long term storage and for short term at + 5°C.
