  • Long description
FITC-labeled bovine type I Collagen Substrate is an excellent substrate for examining collagenase activity. This labelled substrate is highly purified and telo-peptide free and is supplied lyophilized. To minimize background levels in collagenase assays, FITC-labeled collagen has been enzymatically pre-treated and further purified by ion-exchange chromatography._x000B__x000B_FITC-labeled collagen can also be used as a substrate for cell culture. Collagen degradation products in the culture supernatants can be directly determined by measured the flourescence at 520 nm (Emission)/490 nm (Excitation).

  • Test
A high affinity purification column was use to purify I Collagen Substrate antibody conjugated FITC by nordc by chromatographic size exclusion.
  • Description
1 of protein A or G purified by nordc will give more specificity than crude serum.
  • Properties
If you buy Antibodies supplied by nordc they should be stored frozen at - 24°C for long term storage and for short term at + 5°C. This nordc Fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC) antibody is currently after some BD antibodies the most commonly used fluorescent dye for FACS. When excited at 488 nanometers, FITC has a green emission that's usually collected at 530 nanometers, the FL1 detector of a FACSCalibur or FACScan. FITC has a high quantum yield (efficiency of energy transfer from absorption to emission fluorescence) and approximately half of the absorbed photons are emitted as fluorescent light. For fluorescent microscopy applications, the 1 FITC is seldom used as it photo bleaches rather quickly though in flow cytometry applications, its photo bleaching effects are not observed due to a very brief interaction at the laser intercept. nordc FITC is highly sensitive to pH extremes.

MeSH Data
  • Name
  • Concept
Scope note: Test for tissue antigen using either a direct method, by conjugation of antibody with fluorescent dye (FLUORESCENT ANTIBODY TECHNIQUE, DIRECT) or an indirect method, by formation of antigen-antibody complex which is then labeled with fluorescein-conjugated anti-immunoglobulin antibody (FLUORESCENT ANTIBODY TECHNIQUE, INDIRECT). The tissue is then examined by fluorescence microscopy.
