Long description
c-Myc participates in the regulation of gene transcription. It binds DNA in a non-specific manner, yet also specifically recognizes the core sequence 5'-CAC[GA]TG-3'. It seems to activate the transcription of growth-related genes._x000B__x000B_Efficient DNA binding requires dimerization with another bHLH protein. Myc binds DNA as a heterodimer with MAX. It interacts with the follwing: TAF1C and SPAG9; PARP10; KDM5A and KDM5B; FBXW7 (when phosphorylated at Thr-58 and Ser-62); PIM2._x000B__x000B_POU5F1/OCT4, SOX2, MYC/c-Myc and KLF4 are the four Yamanaka factors. When combined, these factors are sufficient to reprogram differenciated cells to an embryonic-like state designated iPS (induced pluripotent stem) cells. iPS cells exhibit the morphology and growth properties of ES cells and express ES cell marker genes.

Test
Mouse or mice from the Mus musculus species are used for production of mouse monoclonal antibodies or mabs and as research model for humans in your lab. Mouse are mature after 40 days for females and 55 days for males. The female mice are pregnant only 20 days and can give birth to 10 litters of 6-8 mice a year. Transgenic, knock-out, congenic and inbread strains are known for C57BL/6, A/J, BALB/c, SCID while the CD-1 is outbred as strain.
