DescriptionFas ligand (FASL, CD95L) is a type-II transmembrane protein that belongs to the tumor necrosis factor (TNF) family. FasL/receptor interactions play an important role in the regulation of the immune system and the progression of cancer. It may contribute to the immune privilege of tumors. Pharmacologic products that render infiltrating T cells insensitive to Fas ligand-induced killing may break the immunologic unresponsiveness to melanoma and provide a complementary approach in the therapy of malignant melanoma. Fas ligand-mediated apoptosis is important for skin homeostasis, the dysregulation of receptor-ligand interactions may be central to the development of skin cancer. Polymorphisms affecting either the expression or biologic activities of Fas or FasL may contribute to the genetic risk of developing T-cell lymphoblastic lymphomas.
-
ImmunogenMouse partial recombinant protein (AA 128-279) was used as the immunogen for this Fas ligand antibody.
-
StorageAfter reconstitution, the Fas ligand antibody can be stored for up to one month at 4oC. For long-term, aliquot and store at -20 deg. Celcius or lower. Cycles of freezing and thawing can denaturate the peptide chains of the antibodies and reduce their sensitivity and/or change their affinity. Prepare aliqotes in such a manner so that freeze-thaw cycles are minimized. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
-
PropertiesIf you buy Antibodies supplied by NJS poly they should be stored frozen at - 24°C for long term storage and for short term at + 5°C.
-
Additional descriptionFAS ligand and other ligands are binding to the receptor for signaling pathways for example in apoptosis or JNK signaling. Receptor agonists are often tested for drug development.
