  • Other_names
    [Hepatitis B core antigen]
  • Clonality
    Monoclonal
  • Clone
    [Hep2 (H69)]
  • Specificity
This item is specific for Hepatitis B core antigen (HBcAg), the highly immunogenic 21kDa replicative form of the Hepatitis B virus (HBV), expressed by infected cells. Antibodies to HBcAg are produced by the host during and following an acute HBV infection and can be detected in chronic HBV carriers and patients recovered from HBV infection, usually persisting in the body for life.
  • Form
    Purified Purified IgG - liquid
  • Concentration
    IgG concentration 0.25 mg/ml
  • Storage_stability
Store at 4 degree C or at -20 degree C if preferred. Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended. This product should be stored undiluted. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use. Shelf Life: 18 months from date of despatch.
  • Tested_application
    Immunofluorescence (IF)
  • Description
This antibody needs to be stored at + 4°C in a fridge short term in a concentrated dilution. Freeze thaw will destroy a percentage in every cycle and should be avoided. Antigens are peptides or recombinant or native dependent on the production method. Hepatitis a, b, c, d, e recombinant surface viral antigens to genotype 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 are used for antibody production to make diagnostic poly or monoclonal antibodies. Hepatitis is a disease of the liver characterized by the presence of inflammatory cells in the tissue of the organ. Hepatitis may occur without symptoms, but can lead to jaundice (a yellow discoloration of the skin, mucous membranes, and conjunctiva of the eyes), poor appetite, and fatigue. Depending on the cause, hepatitis can manifest either as an acute or as a chronic disease.
  • Test
Mouse or mice from the Mus musculus species are used for production of mouse monoclonal antibodies or mabs and as research model for humans in your lab. Mouse are mature after 40 days for females and 55 days for males. The female mice are pregnant only 20 days and can give birth to 10 litters of 6-8 mice a year. Transgenic, knock-out, congenic and inbread strains are known for C57BL/6, A/J, BALB/c, SCID while the CD-1 is outbred as strain.
