Long descriptionLeptin may function as part of a signaling pathway that acts to regulate the size of the body fat depot. An increase in the level of Lep may act directly or indirectly on the CNS to inhibit food intake and/or regulate energy expenditure as part of a homeostatic mechanism to maintain constancy of the adipose mass.

Antibody s suited forUseful for the study of enzyme kinetics, screening inhibitors, and selectivity_x000B_profiling. Full lengtth mouse recombinant sphingosie Kinase 1a protein with N terminal His tag. 20U/ug specific activity A unit of activity determined as the amount ofenzyme required to produce 1 pmol of S1P/min. Specific Activity: 20 U/ug. Sphingosine kinase activity was determined using D-erythrosphingosine_x000B_and ATP as substrates. A unit of sphingosine kinase activity is defined as the amount of enzyme required to produce 1 pmol of S1P/min. Assay buffer: 50 mM HEPES, pH 7.4, 150 mM NaCl, 5 mM MgCl2, 1 mM DTT, 3 uM Na-orthovanadate, 0.5 mM ATP, 4 uM D-erythrosphingosine, and 0.1-0.5 ug/ml sphingosine kinase 1.

GeneHuman or mouse Leptin (from Greek λεπτός leptos, "thin") the "satiety hormone", is a hormone made by adipose cells that helps to regulate energy balance by inhibiting hunger. Leptin is opposed by the actions of the hormone ghrelin, the "hunger hormone". Both hormones act on receptors in the arcuate nucleus of the hypothalamus to regulate appetite to achieve energy homeostasis. ELISA kits and peptides and antibodies are available.

AboutRabbits are used for polyclonal antibody production by nordc. Rabbit antibodies are very stable and can be stored for several days at room temperature. nordc adds sodium azide and glycerol to enhance the stability of the rabbit polyclonal antibodies. Anti-human, anti mouse antibodies to highly immunogenic selected peptide sequences are" monoclonal like" since the epitope to which they are directed is less than 35 amino acids long. Rats are used to make rat monoclonal anti mouse antibodies. There are less rat- than mouse clones however. Rats genes from rodents of the genus Rattus norvegicus are often studied in vivo as a model of human genes in Sprague-Dawley or Wistar rats.
