Long description
Focal Adhesion Kinase (FAK) is a 125 kDa non-receptor protein tyrosine kinase that plays a key role in signaling by growth factors, extracellular matrix and stress signals. Indeed, FAK plays a central role in cell spreading, differentiation, migration, cell death and acceleration of the G1 to S phase transition of the cell cycle. Tyrosine phosphorylation of FAK is associated with positive regulation and growth promotion, while serine phosphorylation is associated with negative regulation, often during mitosis or cell adhesion. Phosphorylation of serine 722 may play a role in negatively regulating the binding of FAK to p130Cas.

Antibody come from
Hybridoma produced by the fusion of splenocytes from BALB/c mice immunized with a synthetic peptide derived from the C-terminus of the human MMP9 protein and mouse myeloma Ag8563 cells.
-
Other description
Provided as solution in phosphate buffered saline with 0.08% sodium azide. Purified from rabbit serum by sequential epitope-specific chromatography. The antibody has been negatively preadsorbed using a non-phosphopeptide corresponding to the site of phosphorylation to remove antibody that is reactive with non-phosphorylated VEGFR2 protein. The final product is generated by affinity chromatography using a VEGFR2-derived peptide that is phosphorylated at tyrosine 951.

Description
cell adhesion molecules play a role in cell growth and activation and are often identified by WB or ELISA as in the Rabbit anti phospho Focal Adhesion Kinase (FAK) (pS722). This antibody needs to be stored at + 4°C in a fridge short term in a concentrated dilution. Freeze thaw will destroy a percentage in every cycle and should be avoided.

About
Rabbits are used for polyclonal antibody production by nordc. Rabbit antibodies are very stable and can be stored for several days at room temperature. nordc adds sodium azide and glycerol to enhance the stability of the rabbit polyclonal antibodies. Anti-human, anti mouse antibodies to highly immunogenic selected peptide sequences are" monoclonal like" since the epitope to which they are directed is less than 35 amino acids long.
