  • Long description
The extent of expression of the basement membrane component type IV collagen may be correlated with the degree of differentiation of basement membrane producing neoplasma. Neoplastic cells of invasive carcinomas often lack a continuous basement membrane. In diagnostic histopathology antibodies to type IV collagen may help to distinguish between non-invasive (benign or in situ) and invasive lesions. Furthermore the antiSerum is important in the differential diagnosis of bullous lesions in dermatopathology.
  • Antibody come from
This polyclonal type IV collagen antibody is a Rabbit polyclonal antibody. The Rabbits were immunized with isolated Human type IV collagen. The immunogen has been isolated from Human placenta.

  • Antibody s reacts with these species
This antibody doesn't cross react with other species
  • Antibody s specificity
Polyclonal type IV collagen recognizes the extracellular – basement membranes.
  • Research interest
    Cancer, Stem cell research
  • Application
    Immunocytochemistry,Immunohistochemistry (frozen),Immunohistochemistry (paraffin),Western blotting
  • Antibody s suited for
Polyclonal type IV is useful for immunoblotting, immunocytochemistry on fixed cells (methanol fixation) and immunohistochemistry on frozen tissues (fixed in methanol, aceton or 1% paraformaldehyde) when using a PBS buffer containing 0.1 mM CaCl2 and 0.1 mM MgCl2. For immunohistochemistry on paraffin tissue the sections should be pretreated with 1 mg/ml pepsin in 0.01 N HCl for 30 minutes at room temperature. Optimal antibody dilution should be determined by titration; 1:25 – 1:100 for immunohistochemistry with avidin-biotinylated Horseradish peroxidase complex (ABC) as detection reagent, and 1:100 – 1:1000 for immunoblotting applications.
  • Storage
Store at 4oC, or in small aliquots for prolonged storage at –20oC.

  • Warnings
This product is intended FOR RESEARCH USE ONLY, and FOR TESTS IN VITRO, not for use in diagnostic or therapeutic procedures involving humans or animals. This product contains sodium azide. To prevent formation of toxic vapors, do not mix with strong acidic solutions. To prevent formation of potentially explosive metallic azides in metal plumbing, always wash into drain with copious quantities of water. This datasheet is as accurate as reasonably achievable, but Nordic-MUbio accepts no liability for any inaccuracies or omissions in this information.
  • Description
This antibody needs to be stored at + 4°C in a fridge short term in a concentrated dilution. Freeze thaw will destroy a percentage in every cycle and should be avoided.
  • Gene
Collagen Types in bones and muscles can be hydrolyzed and used in human grafts. ( Type II )
  • About
Rabbits are used for polyclonal antibody production by nordc. Rabbit antibodies are very stable and can be stored for several days at room temperature. nordc adds sodium azide and glycerol to enhance the stability of the rabbit polyclonal antibodies. Anti-human, anti mouse antibodies to highly immunogenic selected peptide sequences are" monoclonal like" since the epitope to which they are directed is less than 35 amino acids long.
