  • Scientific context
Donkey anti-Mouse IgG (H&L), F(ab)'2 Fragment, FITC conjugated is a secondary antibody conjugated to FITC, which binds to mouse IgG (H&L), F(ab)'2 Fragment in immunological assays.
  • Notes
Antibody purity is > 90% based on SDS-PAGE Small amounts of intact IgG may be present.Affinity purified using solid phase Mouse IgG .Antibody is supplied in 10 mM Sodium Phosphate, 0.15 M Sodium Chloride, pH 7.2, 1 % (w/v) BSA, Protease/IgG free. 0.05% (w/v) Sodium Azide is added as a preservative.Based on IEP, this antibody reacts with: - heavy (gamma) chains on mouse IgG - light chains on all mouse immunoglobulins . Based on IEP, no reactivity is observed to: - non-immunoglobulin mouse serum immunoglobulins .

  • Properties
This agisera Fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC) antibody is currently after some BD antibodies the most commonly used fluorescent dye for FACS. When excited at 488 nanometers, FITC has a green emission that's usually collected at 530 nanometers, the FL1 detector of a FACSCalibur or FACScan. FITC has a high quantum yield (efficiency of energy transfer from absorption to emission fluorescence) and approximately half of the absorbed photons are emitted as fluorescent light. For fluorescent microscopy applications, the 1 FITC is seldom used as it photo bleaches rather quickly though in flow cytometry applications, its photo bleaching effects are not observed due to a very brief interaction at the laser intercept. agisera FITC is highly sensitive to pH extremes.

  • Host
Donkeys or Equus africanus asinus are often used as host species to raise antibodies. Even Equus ferus or horse antibodies are different than donkey antibodies since we know horse anti donkey IgGs. For immunohistochemistry it is useful to use an anti-donkey or horse block if your primary antibody is a donkey anti-human. We provide also anti-donkey as a species antibodies and ELISA kits.
  • Isotype
Antibody fragments and scFv fragments, single chain variable fragments can be E. coli expressed. Fragment peptides for polyclonals give monoclonal like antibodies as the epitope is very small. IgG Fc and(ab)2 fragments are small and stable subunits of the antibody obtained by enzymatic digestion. Complement fragments, bp DNA fragments are common.

  • Concept
Scope note: A method for the study of certain organic compounds within cells, in situ, by measuring the light intensities of the selectively stained areas of cytoplasm. The compounds studied and their locations in the cells are made to fluoresce and are observed under a microscope.
