  • Clone
    RMT4-54
  • Host organism
    Rat (Rattus norvegicus)
  • Species reactivity
Mouse (Mus musculus); Due to limited knowledge and inability for testing each and every species, the reactivity of the antibody may extend to other species which are not listed hereby.
  • Specificity and cross reactivity
TIM-4 Clone RMT4-54 specifically recognises mouse Tim-4 (T-cell immunoglobulin mucin 4), a transmembrane glycoprotein and member of the immunoglobulin superfamily, exclusively expressed by antigen-presenting cells, which acts as the natural ligand of Tim-1, involved in T-cell expansion and cytokine production. _x000D__x000D_Tim-4 is reported to be crucial for the phagocytosis of apoptotic cells by peritoneal macrophages, and studies have shown that interaction between Tim-1 on Th2 cells and Tim-4 on DCs, enhances Th2 cell function. The TIM-4 gene locus is associated with predisposition to asthma in both mice and humans and may be considered as a candidate disease gene for asthma. _x000D__x000D_Studies have shown that clone RMT4-54 significantly inhibits the efficient phagocytosis of apoptotic cells by PRMs (peritoneal resident Mac1+ cells), but not PEMs (peritoneal exudate Mac1+ cells) _x000D__x000D_; Since it is not possible to test each and every species our knowledge on the corss reactivity of the antibodies is limited. This particular antibody might cross react with speacies outside of the listed ones.
  • Purification method
    N/A
  • Form Appearance
Low Endotoxin (Purified IgG - liquid)
  • Concentration
    IgG concentration 1.0mg/ml
  • Storage and shipping
Store the antibody should be stored at -20 degrees Celsius. only. Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended. the antibody should be stored undiluted. Repeated freeze - thaw cycles may denature the peptide chains of the antibody and therefore should be maximally avoided. If there is a precipitate in the vial we recommend you to briefly microcentrifugate it prior to use. Shelf Life: 18 months from date of dispatch.
  • Tested applications
Functional Assay (FA), Immunofluorescence (IF), Flow Cytometry (FACS), Immunohistology - Paraffin (IHC)
  • Description
This antibody needs to be stored at + 4°C in a fridge short term in a concentrated dilution. Freeze thaw will destroy a percentage in every cycle and should be avoided. This is against a protein of mus musculus directed antibody.
  • Properties
If you buy Antibodies supplied by MBS Monoclonals they should be stored frozen at - 24°C for long term storage and for short term at + 5°C.
  • Test
Mouse or mice from the Mus musculus species are used for production of mouse monoclonal antibodies or mabs and as research model for humans in your lab. Mouse are mature after 40 days for females and 55 days for males. The female mice are pregnant only 20 days and can give birth to 10 litters of 6-8 mice a year. Transgenic, knock-out, congenic and inbread strains are known for C57BL/6, A/J, BALB/c, SCID while the CD-1 is outbred as strain.
  • Latin name
    Mus musculus, Rattus norvegicus
  • About
Rats are used to make rat monoclonal anti mouse antibodies. There are less rat- than mouse clones however. Rats genes from rodents of the genus Rattus norvegicus are often studied in vivo as a model of human genes in Sprague-Dawley or Wistar rats.
