ELISA kit description
GENTAUR's mouse MER ELISA test is a ready to use ELISA kit. We use a monoclonal from rat specific for MER was used as capure antibodies on the ELISA test plate. The internal standards (sf21, E23-F498) and your samples are measured with a biotin conjugated polyclonal from goat specific for MER will than be washed with PBS. The colour reaction with TMB on HRP will colour the well from blue to yellow with the stop solution. The more mouse MER in your sample the higher the ELISA signal will be compared to this elisa's standard curve.

How the elisa works
Sample the amount of 100ul/well of the standard solution at 5000pg/ml, 2500pg/ml, 1250pg/ml, 625pg/ml, 313pg/ml, 156pg/ml, 78pg/ml mouse MER standard solutions into the pre-coated 96-well plate. Add 0.1ml of the sample diluent buffers into the control well (Zero well). Add 0.1ml of each properly diluted sample of mouse cell culture supernatant, cell lysate, tissue homogenates or serum to each empty well. See “Sample dilutions Guideline” above for details. We recommend that each mouse MER standard solution and each sample is measured in duplicate.

Proto-oncogene tyrosine-protein kinase MER, also called MERTK is an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the MERTK gene. This gene is a member of the MER/AXL/TYRO3 receptor kinase family and encodes a transmembrane protein with two fibronectin type-III domains, two Ig-like C2-type(immunoglobulin-like) domains, and one tyrosine kinase domain. This gene is mapped to 2q13. MERTK signaling plays a role in various processes such as macrophage clearance of apoptotic cells, platelet aggregation, cytoskeleton reorganization and engulfment. Functions in the retinal pigment epithelium(RPE) as a regulator of rod outer segments fragments phagocytosis. This gene also plays an important role in inhibition of Toll-like receptors(TLRs)-mediated innate immune response by activating STAT1, which selectively induces production of suppressors of cytokine signaling SOCS1 and SOCS3.
